For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9

Have you ever tried to earn a gift from someone? Perhaps you did something special for a loved one, hoping they would be impressed and reward you with a gift. But what if they gave you the gift anyway, without you having to do anything in return? That's essentially how God's grace works. As we read in Ephesians 2:8-9, salvation is a gift from God, given to us through faith, not as a result of our good works. This means that we don't have to do anything to earn God's love and acceptance. We can't work our way into heaven, because it's already been accomplished for us through Jesus' death and resurrection. This truth is liberating! No longer do we have to live under the weight of trying to be good enough for God. Instead, we can experience the freedom of living in His grace, accepting the gift of salvation and living for Him out of love and gratitude. --- Prayer God, thank you for the gift of your grace. Help me to rest in the knowledge that I'm saved by faith, and not by my own efforts. Fill me with joy and gratitude for the love and acceptance you offer me. In Jesus' name, amen.
